Training Classes

The Calm Companion K9 Training Center offers puppy training classes that teach you how to best communicate with your young dog. Our classes provide information on all of your puppy-raising questions including house training, chewing, biting, the most effective way to teach practical skills such as introducing the leash and collar, how to introduce new sounds or objects, and how to build confidence. Organized training classes provide an opportunity for your dog to socialize with other dogs in a safe, controlled environment where you will learn to read body language and understand breed characteristics.  Our classes offer gentle, tried and true training solutions for your canine companion.  Join us for our next puppy class so you can get off to a great start with your puppy!

"Discipline isn't about showing a dog who's boss; it's about taking responsibility for a living creature you have brought into your world."

Puppy Training

Getting a puppy is such an exciting time.  There is scheduling, potty training, socialization, and educational experiences to help them get a great start.  Puppies need guidance, support, and follow through, to learn appropriate behaviors.  Patience and leadership will help develop a balanced and happy puppy that will grow into a great family pet.  Puppy issues to work on are socialization, potty training, leash skills, manners, and feeding.  Puppies grow up fast, so getting them started from the beginning on understanding and following rules, living within the boundaries, and accepting limitations, is key.

"Owners lavish love on their pets, which is why so many go from non-aggressive pups to being out of control when they're older. People just don't realize their dog must respect them as leader of the pack." -
